We have two important pieces of news to report from the Trademark Office: the appointment of a new Director of Trademarks, and an announcement concerning the move of DGIP offices to Kuningan.
On 12 November 2013 a new Director of Trademarks was appointed - Bapak Bambang Iriana. Bapak Iriana was formerly with the Trademark Appeals Commission and also the National Legal Development Authority (Badan Pembinaan Hukum Nasional). With Bapak Iriana having assumed office the Trademark Office has now returned to normal function.
Effective 18 November 2013, the counter that receives applications and issues certificates for registration of trademarks, patents, industrial designs and copyright has moved to the DGIP’s new premises in Kuningan (Jl. H.R. Rasuna Said, Kav. 6-7, Jakarta Selatan 12190). Examination files will remain at DGIP’s Tangerang offices, which means for comprehensive clearance searches attendances at the Tangerang offices will still need to be required.
