Authorities and industry associations have been actively addressing online piracy in Indonesia.
According to a Jakarta Post story (see here), 22 websites facilitating illegal downloads of pirate films, and another 22 websites facilitating illegal downloads of pirate music, have been blocked by the Creative Economy Agency working with the Ministry of Communications. Presumably the websites were blocked pursuant to an article 8 (of the Copyright Law) complaint, which sets out a process for take-downs of problem sites by the Ministry of Communications.
According to CNN, the 22 film-sharing flights that were blocked were:
1. Ganool.com
2. Nontonmovie.com
3. Bioskops.com
4. Ganool.ca
5. Kilasan.to
6. Thepiratebay.se
7. Downloadfilmbaru.com

18. Downloadfilem.com
19. Comotin.net
20. Movie2k.ti

22. 21sinema.com
The Association of Indonesian Film Producers is apparently behind these latest efforts., and has also been working with the cybercrime division of the National Police's Criminal Investigations Directorate (see our post here). All actors should have the support of government authorities, with the current administration having expressed commitment to developing Indonesia’s creative economy and addressing United States Trade Representative claims that piracy is rampant in Indonesia.
